Welcome! I’m Jayci, founder of Niyama Yogi Traveler. As a yoga teacher and a lifelong devotee of Yoga, I cannot emphasize enough that Yoga is so much more than physical postures!

It is a process and way of life. It is a way for you to recenter and reconnect to the things that are most important in your life. Mindfulness, breathing, meditation, cleansing, morals, energies and behaviors carry equal importance – both on and off the mat.

The roots and wisdom of this ancient discipline lie deep in religion, culture, Sanskrit, Vedic texts and India itself. But yoga should never be misconstrued as a religion, nor should it demand anyone to do, feel or believe anything they don’t want to. It is a spiritual experience that is specific to each individual. Many people start practicing to get physically healthy and to their surprise, they discover emotional or mental healing they never knew they needed. Throughout your practice, you will begin to experience great healing and see your life in a new, more positive way.

As a teacher, my approach to cultivating yoga revolves around these concepts. This is what I aim to bring to the world and this is what you will discover when you are a student in my class.

When it comes to asana sequences and pranayama exercises, I prefer to teach by both demonstration and verbal guidance. More often than not, I’m found performing poses along with the class while simultaneously explaining the meaning and purpose behind each action. I also routinely incorporate scriptural references, cultural connotations, and Sanskrit mantras so that students are fully immersed in an authentic yogic experience.

What We Do
Niyama Yogi Traveler is a Maryland-based mobile yoga instructor company that offers the option of bringing yoga classes and workshops to businesses, schools, offices, conferences, retreats, gyms and private events. We strive to make yoga inclusive, more accessible and meet people where they are. By bringing yoga into the places where people already are, we help to develop self care practices, strengthen community, lower stress/tension/anxiety, and increase overall health and wellness.

Whether you’re looking for on-site or virtual classes, we’ll work with you to find the best fit for your team. Our class offerings include mat yoga, desk stretch (aka chair yoga), and guided meditation. We host large or small team on-sites, virtually, or we can create special hybrid options. We also offer private instruction. No matter the format, we will be there to guide you every step (and stretch) of the way.
Where We Work
We work locally, nationally, and internationally to develop functional yoga programs. We strive to bring yoga to resorts, retreats, gyms, businesses, schools, adult/child care facilities and just about anywhere else you can lay a yoga mat!
